In partnership with the Heritage Council of Victoria, we hosted an event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Victorian Heritage Register on the 21st of November 2024 at Jack's Magazine in Maribyrnong. The event included site tours of Jack's Magazine—a former explosives storage facility—and a panel discussion on adaptive reuse and sustainability of heritage buildings.

The discussion focused on the Victorian Heritage Register’s 50 years of heritage protection, acknowledging places included in the Register that had been adaptively reused. It explored how this approach fostered positive social impacts, boosted economic outcomes, and promoted sustainability. Additionally, the event featured multiple walking tours of Jack’s Magazine, showcasing its significance and potential for adaptive reuse ahead of the main presentation.
