The Property
Designated in 1859 as an administrative and law enforcement precinct, the Avoca Police Reserve includes a Police Residence, Powder Magazine and Lock-up. We were appointed managers of the property in 2003 and since then we have played an active role in protecting the site’s cultural significance through conservation of the site’s buildings and landscape.
Current Use
The property is currently used as a private residence.
Visiting the Property
The building’s interiors are currently closed for visitation.
Acknowledgement
Working Heritage acknowledges that the Avoca Police Reserve sits on the land traditionally owned by the Dja Dja Wurrung peoples.
